Le Bon Sens

Lolita's search for natural and organic personal care products was long and yielded many wonderful things. Like the birth of Bon Sens! In search of truly healthy, natural products at a normal price, Lolita began making her own soaps and shampoos years ago. Family and friends profited along and soon she had built a fan base. That was when she decided to stop keeping it to herself.

Le Bon Sens, the name

The hardest part, almost even harder than developing soap or shampoo was coming up with a name. Lolita was looking for a name that sounds beautiful, stands for her products and also fits her person. That became Bon Sens, a French name, because Lolita is associated with France.
Bon Sens means common sense. And that's exactly what it's all about. Common sense means not buying products that are toxic to your body, that don't help reduce your carbon footprint and that make you a thief in your own wallet.
In French, Bon Sens also means right direction. And it also means sense. Well, your senses come into their own with Bon Sens: you can feel the texture of the products and the creamy softness of the soaps, they are pleasing to the eye and emit a subtle fragrance.

Le Bon Sens, the ingredients

The ingredients Lolita uses to make soaps and shampoos are organic whenever possible and always natural. Lolita picks a lot of wild, in places where no chemicals are used, or on her own balcony or in the gardens of family and friends. When Lolita walks through nature, she always carries a bag and a knife. Her eye is immensely trained in spotting useful plants. When wild-picking, she takes into account where the herbs grow, such as whether pesticides are not used nearby. But also how the natural area is maintained. If planting is not possible, Lolita buys fresh plants and herbs from organic herb gardens.

All the different macerates used for the soaps Lolita makes herself, by putting organic flowers and plants in different organic, vegetable oils for weeks.
