Geranium is an upright, grey-green perennial up to 1.5 metres high. In spring and summer, pink flowers appear in the plant. The geranium oil is obtained by steam distillation of these flowers. The smell is very similar to the very expensive rose oil, so rose oil is often (partially) replaced by geranium oil.
